Certification

At a time when productivity and meeting the bottom line are critical to business success, employing a highly skilled and educated workforce can mean the difference between a good investment and a high risk.

The CNC (computer numeric controlled) Production Specialist certification (CCI) enables participants to show their knowledge of computer-aided programming systems of CAD/CNC coupling and the CIM environment. They are able to generate CNC programs on their own with a graphical programming system and to apply their knowledge to multi-axial turning and milling centers. Topics will include application software, input and output devices, CAD system 2D/3D, menu-tablet-oriented operation, basic drawing commands, object snap functions, editing functions, layers, formats, CAD/CAM coupling, CAD 3D/CNC coupling, CNC operation, graphical simulation, CNC machining, and much more.

Other certifications include the CPT Certification which covers the 4 critical work activities: Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness.  Next is the CLT Certification which covers core competency areas: the foundational-level Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certificate and mid-level Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) Certification.

WHO NEEDS CERTIFICATION?

  • Workers who need to improve their job skills
  • Workers whose jobs may be at risk, or workers who have lost a job and need to return to the workforce
  • Individuals coming out of the military
  • People wanting to move into a technical and highly valuable career
  • Improved employee engagement and input

  • MSSC

    MSSC CPT Certifications

The purpose of the Certified Production Technician (CPT) program is to recognize through certification individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of manufacturing production at the front-line (entry-level through front-line supervisor) through successful completion of the certification assessments. The goal of the CPT certification program is to raise the level of performance of production workers both to assist the individuals in finding higher-wage jobs and to help employers ensure their workforce increases the company’s productivity and competitiveness.

The CPT program consists of five individual certificate modules: Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Maintenance Awareness and Green Production. Candidates must earn the first four certificates to receive the full CPT certification. (Note: At this time Green is not required for full-CPT certification.)

Individuals demonstrate their understanding of the core skills and knowledge though five assessments based upon MSSC's industry-defined, nationally validated skill standards. Delivered online, each assessment contains about 80-90 multiple-choice questions (paper versions are available in special circumstances). Individuals are allowed 90 minutes to complete each assessment. MSSC provides assessment scores as soon as the individual completes an assessment showing whether an individual met the “cut” scores for passing.

    ACT WorkKeys

    ACT® WorkKeys®

WorkKeys® is a skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a quality workforce. The assessments measure foundational and soft skills.

WorkKeys assessments measure skills that employers feel are essential to success in the workplace. Students, job seekers, and seasoned professionals can use WorkKeys to learn more about their strengths and weaknesses and gain a valid way to demonstrate their abilities to employers. Educators and employers can use it to help take the guesswork out of determining student, applicant, and employee qualifications.

Each WorkKeys assessment offers varying levels of difficulty. The levels build on each other, incorporating the skills assessed at the previous levels. For example, at Level 5, individuals need the skills from Levels 3, 4, and 5. The complexity can also increase as the quantity and/or density of the information increases.

Successful completion of WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information can lead to earning the National Career Readiness Certificate™ (NCRC®), a portable credential earned by more than 3 million people across the United States. Examinees that complete Spanish-language versions of the assessments are eligible to earn the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate en Español.
