Manufacturing skills courses

Today's manufacturers compete by leverageing knowledge. The challenge is to train effectively with simple, powerful tools. Our programs provide the difficult skill requirements that companies so desperately need. Machining Training Solutions has developed a range of products and training courses to simplify your training initiative and help you achieve your goals with confidence.

Our Manufacturing Skills Courses are designed to be highly intensive, day-long programs designed specifically to connect learning with hands-on tasks. Each of these "workshop" style courses are built around industry recognized roles. These courses can be tailored to your company's needs or can be generalized for training individuals from different companies.

MTS has the flexibility to be able to offer training at our facility, your facility, as well as online with an instructor. All of whcih are led by master machinists, each with over 30 years of manufacturing expertise.

MTS certifications are equivalent to ASME Y14.5 - 2009

Blueprint Reading

Blueprints are a universal language for designers, engineers and production personnel. Using lines, numbers, symbols and illustrations blueprints convey the constraints of the object to the reader. A blueprint is the most common form of communication used in manufacturing and learning to interpret their meaning is critical to success in the manufacturing world. Instruction includes the alphabet of lines, title blocks, tolerance, projection, thread representation, symbols and terminologies.

Registration Deadline: August 1st, 2017
Start Date: August 15th, 2017

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is an international engineering language that is used on engineering drawings to describe products in three dimension. GD&T is a precise mathematical language that describes the form orientation and location of part features in zones of tolerance. Although the intent of GD&T is to more clearly communicate a components physical size and shape parameters, it is much too often misapplied and misunderstood.

Registration Deadline: August 15th, 2017
Start Date: August 29th, 2017

Computer Aided Design

CAD (Computer Aided Design) software is used by designers, inventors, engineers, architects, artists and most anyone needing to transform ideas into physical reality. In the CAD environment, virtual components are created in 3 dimension and combined to create complex working assemblies. The form, fit, function, and tolerance can be evaluated and working specifications derived from the CAD models in the form of 2-dimensional CAD drawings. In manufacturing, most design specifications are communicated using a CAD platform.

Registration Deadline: August 29th, 2017
Start Date: September 12th, 2017

Computer Aided Manufacturing

CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software is used extensively in the manufacturing industry. CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) machines use specific and complex language to control movement, which is generated from CAM software. The tools used to cut raw material, the speed they move, and the path of movement can be generated and verified in a CAM environment. The resulting CNC program is then transferred to the machines to manufacture the component.
